As the daughter of a tea planter married to a keen gardener, you could say plants are in my blood but I really discovered my love of gardening when I was in my twenties.  My mother was unwell and unable to care for our sizeable garden at home. I was working in a stressful job but wanted to do my bit to help out.  At the weekends we would go into the garden and set about the various tasks needing attention.

This was therapeutic for both of us and allowed my mother to nurture my growing interest as a gardener.  Soon I was writing notes in the margins of gardening manuals and was spending more and more time in the garden.  After moving away from home, I tended the largest pots that I could fit on my very small balcony. When we moved to a house with a garden, I had the opportunity to put all my dreams into practice.  I started working alongside a garden landscaping company that soon offered me a job. Three years later – in 2004 – I set up Pots of Style.  Since that time I have undertaken a wide variety of projects from window boxes and balconies to planting long sweeping borders and courtyard gardens.
